BIOGRAPHY
Andrzej Dragan is a professor of physics at the University of Warsaw and the National University of Singapore, where he leads a research group working on bridging relativity with quantum theory. He is a recipient of scientific awards from the European Science Foundation, the Polish Minister of Education, the Foundation for Polish Science, the National Science Centre, and the weekly Polityka, and has also been named Digital Shapers Visionary of the Year.
He was a visiting student at the University of Oxford and has worked at Imperial College London and the University of Nottingham. He is the author of three books and more than 70 scientific papers.
Dragan is also the Photographer of the Year of the British magazine Digital Camera, the Commercial Director of the Year for a campaign for the company 4F according to the Polish Advertisers Association, Digital Shapers Visionary of the Year, and Person of the Year of the Polish Association of Advertising Agencies (SAR). He has been nominated for a Golden Lion at the Cannes advertising festival and received a Fryderyk Award for music video of the year.
He has created photography and short films for Netflix, HBO, Channel 4, Sky TV, PlayStation, Converse, Energizer, and Xbox. He is the creator of the photographic Dragan Effect and the author of exhibitions in Milan, London, Paris, Amsterdam, New York, and Tokyo.
He is the winner of the Grand Prize at the London Fashion Film Festival, Best in Show of the British Creative Review, the Berlin Music Video Awards, as well as Poland’s Popkiller and the Script Fiesta award, and a finalist of Berlin Commercial. He has also received awards at the Golden Drum, Epica Awards, Corbis Awards, and Photo Masters Cup London festivals.
He is the director of award-winning music videos for Quebonafide, Behemoth, and Hania Rani. As a teenager, he won numerous awards in electronic music competitions within the demoscene.
